Omega Railmaster - A “Field” watch 😀
Seems like this iteration of the Railmaster is officially coming to an end. Prices on Chrono24 have jumped up by approximately 35% for these models; though still an amazing value. I think of it as a field watch by Omega 😀 One of my favorite grab and go daily wear watches.

I have been keenly watching the Railmaster for a few years now and intend to add one to my collection. I especially love the 'Denim' dial of this particular watch, such a great look. #omega

I really hope they don't give up on this kind of watch. Small design choices keep the railmaster from being the right thing for me, but I really like the spirit behind them. It'd be a shame if they stopped playing with these.

Thank you. I'm just not used to having to wait too long for my next watch. I doubt I'll be able to consider this watch until the end of the year. Still, all good things come to those who wait!

I have been trying to enjoy the hunt and prolong the research phase more… it is in some ways more fun than the acquisition! I eyed the Railmaster for a good two plus years before buying it.

Wow. I wish I had your restraint but self discipline was never a quality I possessed until my 50s. Even then it's very much limited to my work, certainly not in my watch purchasing habits.
I like the Railmaster. I have often thought of getting one. With having an Omega AT I don't think it will happen, however. Now with the loss of it in production, I am getting FOMO. Help.

That dial is my favourite but it has always been at a premium over the other colours in the UK, I haven't seen the price rise recently though.
Great watch and criminaly underappreciated. BTW what do you mean by price increase 35%? These were always available new on grey for app. 30-40% off FRP so this would imply they are back to FRP/close to FRP? Or I misunderstand your statement?

Thank you! Could not agree more that it is a severely underrated watch. I got this watch with official warranty for a steal. It is up 30-35% from that heavily discounted price. I don’t ever plan on selling it but it was an interesting to see the recent uptick in prices in the grey market; likely due to the fact that Omega has discontinued production.

Ok now I understand, thanks for explanation. Is discontinuation official? I have seen some predictions here and there it could be but nothing offical yet, also still available in their web portfolio.

I think the railmaster is one of Omegas best lines. Beautiful design, great dials and lovely hands and markers. On this particular one, I love the red seconds hand against the blue dial. Really smart looking.
I was saving up for the black one and the new prices are to high. I found a few one for around 1800-2200 € and now they are around 3000 €. 😢 Don´t know, if i should hurry up or wait...
What is the blue step that you have paired with your Railmaster? I’ve been looking for a good rubber strap for mine and would love one with an integrated look!

Zealande is the name. They make them in a few different color variations. No issues with mine so far. Your black dial RM looks lovely! It was honestly a toss up between the black and blue for me.
