I'm considering a "Doruche" ๐ŸŒŠ

I have been fixated on this 34mm GS Elegance lately:

34mm, F9 quartz, simple design but 4000$..

So I somehow ended up looking at the Dolce or like I like to call it "Doruche". It does got the predecessor to the 9F quartz and is expected to perform within less than 10sec +/- a year. Fine dial and 34mm. I also like that it's a Japanese domestic model.

The things I'm less sold on is how thin it is. I realize that this can be a luxurious feature, but I find it cheap looking on even the most expensive watches. Also the very Japanese look and design. It looks more Credor-like than any recent GS design. But that should be a good thing? It's probably just that I have been less exposed that look. And if the stone on the crown actually is onyx and not plastic, then I don't mind that either.

For a 10th of the GS price! What's holding me back?

If you are looking for Dolce then I would look for vintage ones cause there are some really great designs with HAQ module.

The tank style design are more prominent especially the tungsten carbide cases being the most sought after.

Dolce line in general come in very thin cases. Even the new radio controlled models are only 8mm. The finishing is good, not detailed as a GS but you still get more than what you would expect at that price range. Designed to be dress watches and these do a good job with the dimensions.

Do the Dolce models you're looking at come with the 8J movement? If so, I hear it's an awesome movement that comes quite close to the earlier 9F units. I have been narrowly dodging some 8J-powered Credors, but I think I am ultimately going to take the plunge and get one soon.

Take a look at some vintage Credors, they are fairly cheap for what they are and have the same thinness as the Dolce, but are usually fairly small.

I really like this current model ๐Ÿค” I like the idea of a "Tank" but I don't know if I'm able to pull any of them off..

Yes, it should be a 8J ๐Ÿ˜Š I like that this one has a bit of Credor flare without going all out.
