So far ahead of its time. A monobloc case good to 300m (probably a fair bit more, but while bother testing that in 1968). A 5Hz (36,000vph) high-beat movement, complete with second hand hacking and a quick-set date. A scratch resistant hardlex crystal (everyone else was still using acrylic). The 4 o’clock crown position that became core to many Seiko divers. The case was built like a tank and last but not least, the gold-toned hands and indices (oh baby). Seiko brought back a reimagined version of this in 2000 for the first time with the modern legend, Marinemaster 300 SBDX001.

Nice one ! Proper Seiko
That modern Marinemaster is cool too, is servicing a monobloc a worry ?

You have to send to a good vintage Seiko person (Spencer Klein is a good option). My 2016 SBDX001 below.

Standard service costs 250-300, they go up from their depending on complexity of watch and what may be wrong.
Now THAT is a fabulous watch. Fantastic.
Gorgeous, gorgeous watch.
I'm guessing you don't wear it out much? Just a little scratch on the bezel would spoil my day. 🙄

I do wear it some (once or twice a month), but don’t put it thru the paces.
