PSA Don’t Shower With Your Watch

I committed a foul today, I showered with my watch on. The result of such action was a chalky residue in between the folds and rivet impressions on the band. Looks like soap and possibly hard water were the culprit.

The solution was a run in the ultrasonic machine and a good scrubbing with Dawn dish soap. The lesson, take the extra 15 - 20 seconds and take off your watch before you shower.

If it takes you 15 seconds to take off your watch you got bigger problems 🤣

Might need to call the fire department to cut it off.

Rinse longer... 😉

I wore watches while showering over the course of many years and never had that issue.

·

Too much bubble bath soap does that.... just sayin

Its a G-shock, it looks sexy when dirty 😄

Hold up, was this disassembled before ultrasonic cleaning? I'm honestly not sure if showering or ultrasound is more likely to induce water penetration.

I have a shower clock. No idea how much it cost as it came from a flea market used. It has that basic universal AA battery quartz movement except with sweep second hand for the win.

Yeah, took the strap off and unscrewed

The shroud from the watch case and module.
