Christmas shopping
I suspect that many a cruncher is already looking towards the holidays with hope and anticipation!? Maybe it's a bit too early to ring in the season, but I just came across this Christmas advert from 1949.
Interesting to see which brands have survived until today (Omega, Bulova, Hamilton, Longines) and which ones have disappeared (Gruen, Elgin, Wittnauer). Makes you wonder how many of today's watch market darlings will survive until 2097...

Thanks for sharing this piece of history with us. A financial inflation calculator estimates the $67.50 for the advertised Omega to be $770-ish today. Today, those cost 5–10x more. 🤯 Now, I wish I could go back in time for Christmas shopping. 😀
