How to actually use those Amazon demagnetizers?

So took a flight with the Studio Underd0g Berries and Cream and it was super accurate prior to the X-ray.  Now it’s a minute behind or more per day.  I’ve got one of those blue demagnetizers but how do you actually use it??

Also check all your lug pins and watch straps you buy with any type of lug pin. The chances are they are magnetized.

Enjoy the watch!

Cheers!

yes! +1 for checking spring bars - remove your strap from the watch head before demagnetizing

tbh just go to a watch shop and ask them to help - majority of watch shops wont charge you for checking and demagnetizing a watch

I use my de-magnetizer on all my purchases of straps and pins. Easy and cheap! I use a small compass I bought for a nato strap setup. Easier to use because it's small.

Cheers!

Another FYI

Mark's first part has a good nugget of info regarding watches running fast and magnetism. Good info to know. It may not apply in your case but good to know for future issues.

Well seems to be back to form. Flew a second time and it was fine.  Oh well. All I know is whoever Richard has regulating those Seagull movements, is amazing cause it’s keeping time as well as my quartz at the moment!

Thanks for the update. having just bought a pricey new watch, and having another in for servicing stemming from (I think) magnetizing, I’m thinking how much going on a flight may mess with my watches. Nice knowing you can fix that problem.

Most modern watches with silicon components for hairspring and mainspring and escapement shouldn’t be affected but apparently spring bars can be.  Hadnt considered it much.  But yeah the cheap one from Amazon does the trick
