Casio G-Shock "Origin" - Square series.
Started with the DW-5600MS-1, my first ever G-Shock which I bought in 2014. The battery and the original resin bezel & band lasted for about 5 years. Fitted with a couple of aftermarket resin BNBs and also a titanium bezel. That was the start of my G-Shock square addiction (and the 2100s all in 2022 alone ๐).
Bought the GW-B5600-2DR last year for the purpose of fitting it in a metal kit from AliExpress, TVA-ish kinda vibe. Wasn't ready to experience the full metal 5000s back then. And it had all the same features; multiband 6, bluetooth connectivity, and tough solar. Loved the metallic blue colouring on the outer dial.
Then a few months later, I had to get the GW-B5600BC-1B for its composite bracelet. Very neutral looking watch but the it was so comfortable to wear.
Ahh the venerable GW-5000U-1JF, sold all my 5600s just to get this. It had better resin BNB and yup a DLC screw-down caseback. The dial is a real classic. But I hate operating this watch, the buttons were hard to press.
Then I got the GMW-B5000G-2. I just loved the blue ion-plated on the bezel and keeper. Contrary to most, I love the negative STN display, it has that cool purple hue under direct light. And that brick pattern above the solar panel.
Similiar to the GW-5000U, it began to feel top heavy being half metal. So I outfitted it with a metal bracelet to get the full metal experience. Lengthier lug-to-lug but I like how it feels on my wrist. Sold the GW-5000U after that and I kinda missed it for being so under the radar.

Square is my favorite series as well but I want something slimmer. What model would you suggest?

You can for the GA-2100 or the GA-B2100 with Bluetooth. It's thinner than the 5600s and still has that iconic square bezel.

Isnโt GA-2100 octagon not square?
