Another day, another GADA discussion - which one would you pick?
Hi Crunchers, like so many out there, I'm currently debating which time piece to buy as my first watch. I strive for a one-and-done GADA watch for maximum versatility. So far, I have narrowed down the...

yes I agree that the Sinn looks plain in comparison. It really didn't feel cheap to me though. actually i was surprised by how solid it felt. maybe Sinn is the VW of the watch world - not flashy but just a solid workhorse😃 they just released a new clasp with on the fly micro adjust btw
when I put on the sinn I felt like "ok this is very nice" but with the longines I was definitely more wow'd. really like their finishing details especially on the bezel and bracelet. also the size was perfect for me.

that's true, but that's also just a trend and I'm sure that will change again in the future. my main priority is actually just to find the watch that I'd enjoy wearing the most :)

Hi there, yes the 556 is a proper strap monster! Looks goo on almost anything i've seen it on so far. that's definitely a huge plus and sinn offers tons of OEM straps. I also appreciate the top grade SW movement and the overall value proposition of the 556.
I don't know about you, but I really wouldn't mind to buy the SBGX second hand. They're in the same ballpark as a new 556. And if I only stick to one watch, then 19mm also wouldn't bother me. Been also contemplating the Seiko SPB317, which I'd keep on a rubber or nato strap whereas the SBGX would probably look best on a leather strap or bracelet.
Thanks for sharing! I should probably check out the SBGX as well! Good thing is there's an AD here who sells Longines, Sinn and GS :)

hahaha for the good of the people, i will consider it thank you😁 all good, she's doing fine :) exactly! I feel like it the longines would be fine for most days - unless something spontaneous and more adventurous occurs. that's what I really enjoy about the SBGN because I don't think I would really have to worry about it. it just seems that rugged. Nice! I'll surely post again here when I bought one. That might still take some months, though. Your GS looks amazing! Really loving the dial color - pure class!

Oh yes that Formex has been in the running as well! The dial looks really amazing and fit & finish also seem to be great by all accounts. However, the screws really turn me off. Without them I think I might get this one instead. Do you notice the screws during daily wear? To me it's just a little bit too sporty for what I have in mind, I think. Great piece nonetheless :)

Yup I agree! The Sinn is great and really versatile. However, the Longines just looks better in my opinion. It's really the choice between rugged vs elegant. I think that really comes down to one's lifestyle and preferences.
I'm just wondering if I'd just lust after the Longines if I should get the Sinn or if I would appreciate the Sinn's minimalism more over time. Really hard to tell but both are great so definitely a 1st world problem to debate :D
