Way More Beautiful in Person

I met a guy yesterday and from 20 yards away hos watch caught my eye. I make my way over to him, I speak, tell him I like the look of his watch and ask if he's knows the model. A conversation ensues.

If I had asked him 2 years ago, he'd have no idea. The watch was a 14th birthday presnt from his father and until a few years ago, had never been serviced. But now it had and now he did know.

1984 Breitling Chronomat. Worn, neither abused nor pampered. Looked so at home on his wrist that it could very well be his daily wearer. Small for a Breitling, perfect for the current sizing trend.

Sorry for the stock photo. I didnt have the heart to ask for a picture. It's a very nice watch, worn by a very nice Frenchmen ( Toronto. )

Good catch and the sort of conversation that we wish for.

My niece wears her dad’s gold and steel 80s Chronomat with a pilot bracelet, slightly vintage more rounded case, not small still robust by other watch standards. I wear Breitling watches most days but admit the first that I purchased in the 80s were just amazing!
