I voted yes, but I want to know what your concerns about the watch may be. Is it purely the fact that it resembles a Grand Seiko that concerns you? Would you buy it if you looked at the specs alone? Would you wear it if someone gifted it to you? At the end of the day, it is your money. Buy and wear what you like, other peoples opinions should not matter.

I fell in love with it, then I watched some videos about it and realised it resembled a very expensive grand Seiko. Now I have mixed feelings because I like the watch but it feels wrong buying a watch which now only resembles the watch I actually like. I will have to think about it for a while before buying.

Well, I built this watch not too long ago. I came in just above $100. The band was cheap, I have to admit. What I'm saying is that you can get into a NH34 watch for much less. You would otherwise have to really like the specific dial or bracelet.

The watch itself can be build for around $100, which means you are buying a $100 bracelet. If you like that bracelet, that may not be an issue.
You can buy the component parts of pretty much any watch for less than the completed article costs. The issue then becomes how much would you have to pay someone to put them together if you don't have the confidence or skills to do that yourself.

It may look like a Grand Seiko, but it is in no way a Grand Seiko. Everything about it is drastically different.

Let's look at a Ronda R150 for example. The concept is similar, meaning that it is largely compatible with the 2824 in its external dimensions. A Ronda R150 watch stem is around $14 the last time I checked, as it is unique to the movement. This list will continue for the rest of the movement.
Sure, the single component will cost less than the movement, but I won't expect a watchmaker to hold these components for a non-standard movements in inventory. I'm not sure about availability, either.
P.S.: Sorry, just realized I responded to the wrong thread.
If you like it and it fits your budget, go for for it! But if your interested in buying it because a Grand Seiko seems unreachable, please wait. Save up for a Grand Seiko, you won’t regret it 👍🏻

According to Caliber corner you could pick up a complete replacement Ronda R150 for between $160 ~$170 (2021), again like you, I have no idea on availability. If I am to believe the comments in the thread about this movement, it is / was not widely used.

I don’t have the knowledge/tools of building a watch on my own. I’m pretty fine with paying 100 to get a full watch without messing it up😂

Yeah I feel the same, I might buy a seagull chronograph instead. They are on the same website:)
I believe that would be either a Pagani Design or an ADDIESDIVE. In bith cases will be the best 200 USD you’ve ever spent for a watch! If you would like to tell more I beliI can give you an informed opinion as I hve 4 Pagani Designs and 3 ADDIESDIVEs 👌🏽

I’m not into homages that much, however I like sugess for the complications they offer for that price point:)

I don’t agree, the bracelet is not insane, however it is good considering the price point in which it is.

I just found this on ebay, available from Switzerland for €17 + shipping, so availability isn't an issue

Yes I’m aware of this, since it only costs 200 usd. I don’t expect the same quality/finish.

I highly recommend the Seagull 1963 ( I own one)

The major caveats here are if they don’t mess it up and do it perfectly the first try. I don’t want to build a watch; I just want a watch

Look at the positive side. It could provide hours of entertainment.
