Watch "repair"... A bit fiddly, but done!

I took my Casio G-Shock GA-100L in for a battery change, and when the watch was given back to me, my watch guy told me that he couldn't set the time. He told me to check the manual for the setting instructions. No problem, I said. I have the manual at home. Well, I couldn't set the time, as the "C" pusher button wasn't working to advance from city code, to DST, to 12/24 format, etc. I removed the back, and saw that the C pusher was not making proper contact. I fiddled with it for a while, but no success. After setting the watch aside for a couple of weeks, I decided to give it another try. I managed to fix it, but a problem remained. The digital read out (which was correct) and the hands were not in synch. A quick Google search led me to a YouTube video that explained the synch process, et voilà! All synched, and back to normal. I have to say that I am a bit disappointed that my watch guy didn't figure this all out before handing the watch back to me, as clearly something was disrupted when he changed the battery. Anyway, all's well that ends well. 😀

Glad you got it sorted out!

I had 2 ana-digi G-Shock watches in a row fail to remain in sync. I would synchronize the digital and analog times, and within 3 days they would be off by hours.

This surprised me because my previous G-Shocks had been bombproof.

Edit: Photo shows the digital display showing the date, as I neglected to press the "D" button to switch from displaying date to displaying time.

Nothing beats a successful repair session of something you had to „learn“. I like those MacGuyver moments. Congrats 🍾
