Pagani Design PD-1667 strap issue

I just received my PD-1667, and it is every bit as handsome as the photo indicates. I opted for the silicon strap, as in the photo, which comes with a deployment clasp. I had no previous experience with such a clasp, and was a bit befuddled by it, finding it difficult to thread the strap, and adjust it to fit. I checked out some YouTube videos, but no real help, as the clasps in the videos showed that the end of the clasp could be opened to insert the strap end. Then it was a simple matter of situating the holes for a proper fit, closing the clasp end, then closing the clasp. With the strap provided, however, the clasp end does not open. This made it more difficult to thread the strap, and once settled on a hole, virtually impossible to adjust to a different hole. I hope my struggles do not turn out to be a case of operator error, but... In any case, while struggling to size the strap, I may have screwed up the clasp closure (either that or it was defective). While the clasp does close, there is no satisfying "click," and does not close securely. It's too bad, as I like the strap quite a bit, just not the clasp. So, I ordered a new rubber strap with a conventional buckle. Once I replace the strap, I will see if it is possible to swap out the deployment clasp on the strap for a buckle.

Send it back… even PD watches have a warranty

That's true. I wouldn't want to get the same strap, though, and there's nothing wrong with the watch. Also, the time involved would probably be around one month to send it back and get a replacement. Easier to just order a new band, and certainly quicker.

I have the same watch and had to use the pictures of the watch on Amazon to finally figure it out. I finally got it right and have no idea if I could do it again! Truly a baffling style clasp.

This uses a standard two button pusher deployment style clasp. I ordered two, and one of them would only latch one of the pushers. The deployment clasps are also available on their own from AliExpress/Amazon for a few bucks. The reason they are so inexpensive, as opposed to, say, a $85 Tissot deployment style clasp, is because the manufacturing tolerance is not nearly as good, so the error rate is likely MUCH higher.

Mine won't lock entirely and yours has too much metal, not allowing it to open. You can probably file yours down, but I would just buy a few more deployment clasps... one of em should work.
