What's your favourite caseback in your collection? Let me tell you about my favourite caseback!
I realised that many of my posts and photos have showcased the lovely dial on the HZ.01, but I've neglected to draw enough attention to the caseback medallion - one of the core features of our upcoming watch! Being a vintage inspired design that I tried to bring a modern twist to, I felt that the addition of a caseback medallion was the perfect way to give a subtle nod to some of the most classic vintage watches with caseback medallions, including the omega constellation, grand Seiko, and the Longines champleve enamel medallions! One of the main problems with enamel filled medallions is the longevity of the enamel, which can often crack or fall out - not to mention the high cost of this manufacturing process! I explored many different materials and methods, before settling on using a type of resin to mimic the enamel, creating a lower cost, and more durable medallion! Why green, and why this design? If you don't know much about Hz Watches, you're forgiven as we only introduced ourselves about a month ago! Long story short, our focus is on celebrating quartz watches - and our medallion is just one of the ways we do so! Quartz watches use a circuit, to count the oscillations of the quartz crystal. After 32,768 vibrations, the circuit creates an electric pulse - moving the hand forward by one beat. Neat! Maybe the medallion reminds you of a circuit board? Wow very nice and unique. The worst I hate is plain blank case back so had to bring them life.

Color designs are cool as well. This is a Cheap manual watch had to hype up a bit. I call it the blood 🩸 drop back.
