New from company or new from eBay.

I have wanted this watch since the first day I saw it. I've been saving up eBay gift cards and I've got cash enough to get this new on eBay now. Or do I wait and buy it new from the company? Of course, buying it from the company is a way to support that independent watchmaker. But I'd have to wait a little longer. I'll get it much quicker through eBay. It is new, never worn. Price is the same. One difference might be that I could rely on the warranty from the company. I'm not sure about warranty from the online eBay store.

I wouldn't wait. I assume the company isn't possible because they've not kept it in stock?

·

The company has said that it's still in stock but it's discontinued so when it's gone, it's gone.

·

I'm afraid that I might wait too long.

For me, the decision ultimately lies on how much you want to use the eBay gift cards into the purchase. Of course you want to support the brand and you don’t want any discrepancies on the warranty if you may need it but it’s hard to argue the funds that will go into the purchase with the gift cards, if you had any ideas for a strap, maybe you can use the gift cards for that or another watch purchase in the future. I don’t know man it all depends on how you feel about that factor. Not sure if this helped you lol but I tried.

No. That's helpful. I will say that it's a Miyota , so servicing wouldn't be a problem. I can get that done anywhere if it's not under warranty. I'd be more concerned if it were a Swiss movement.

I say go eBay as if you wait you may miss out and remember they are only making so many and this was already sold to someone therefore the worst you are doing to the brand is allowing them a little more time to sell out.

Hey, that eBay listing is mine. Best to use the website since eBay charges astronomical fees. Everyone here can use the discount code WATCHCRUNCH for a small discount. Also pls follow it helps!

Sad part is that a significant portion is in eBay gift cards. I could use a credit card . Most of my funds are cash ($400) but $175 is in eBay gift cards. I need to think this over.

Feel free to use the eBay cards - I still get the money, will just lose about 20% to eBay and processing fees

Hmm. Let me think about that. What chiselers.

Don't feel guilty about it! It's annoying for sure, but that's not your problem and I understand wanting the best deal for yourself. So yeah, if you have those ebay cards and want to use them just go for it.

Thanks for getting back to me. Huge fan. I have an emotional attachment to this watch since I first saw it. Something dating back to my college years. Finally ready to get it.

I had wanted this watch as well for a long time. Just got it a few weeks ago and love it - classy as hell. Bracelet is great. Get it - you will not regret it.

Good to know. I'm going to have to wait a bit though. My Hellcat is inbound.
