My hami got a new friend! Certina Action Diver 38mm

Finally made the call! Been thinking of buying a mid size diver for a long time and after all I went for one of the first ones I considered.

I was exited for the new Seiko 5 diver in 38mm but was really disappointed trying it since it wears more like a 36mm because of the shorter lugs.

The Certina has a simular size to my Hamilton (both 38x46) and they wear great without feeling too small imo. I am also very pleased with the ETA 80h movement powering both of these watches so it felt like a logical choise.

The downside I see is the weird 19mm lug width on the Certina which makes it a bit more tricky to find a rubber strap for it. I will probably buy Uncle Seikos waffle rubber strap since that was the best one I could find.

To sum it up I am very happy with the purchase and it feels like a durable sturdy dive watch that will last a while. It will among other things be a great summer companion of mine for both sun and swimming activities 🙌

Aaww...look at them. How good they fit to each other.

There making a dynamic duo!

They only fight to get the spot on your wrist for the day!

Love the 38mm divers from Certina. Been thinking about the titanium one a lot recently, the colorway is a little funky though.

Congratulations on a great purchase. I have the 38mm titanium diver and I love it. They make great watches that can take a beating and keep on ticking. A seriously underrepresented brand in NA. They deserve more recognition.

Thanks a ton! I totally agree.

I’ve heard a lot of people saying that but it feels odd to me since Certina is one of the most recognized swiss watch brands here in Sweden. You find them in every other watch/jewlery store. Certina watches is also one of the most common vintage watch brands to find on Swedish auction sites among tissot/seiko/omega etc.

On the other hand there is not a single authorised dealer of Hamilton or Mido that I know of in Sweden, so it feels like Swatch Group have chosen to distribute one brand and not the other in different regions and markets. Don’t know the reason why though.
