This one has similar lyre lugs case design with UG Polerouter, designed by Gerald Genta.
Yes - I definitely can admire the Polerouter, and do, but their prices have tripled/quadrupled in the last three years. So they make no sense (to me) now - and have obviously attracted the fakers too. Lovely classic timeless design but too many risks and pitfalls for me to get seriously involved.

V nice. I wonder which came first this or the Omega Speedmaster as the lugs seem so similar?

I’m not quite sure. But I think the first Speedmaster was from 1957 & this UG compax from 1960s
Omg, that's look so nice! #vintage piece in great condition. Congrats!

So that case and styling was essentially “of the times” rather than unique to Omega.
Very nice and very classy.
