I just sold a watch on eBay and I'm surprised how much the selling fees were. I did read the fee schedule, but all the extra little fees really add up. Shipping, insurance, etc. Can anyone suggest a better way to sell?
Facebook Marketplace? Then I would have to join Facebook. I'm not sure, but local sales seem to bring lower prices. That's been my experience selling guitars, anyway. Thanks for the input.
Thank you, I will look into them. Not using eBay is kind of bummer because I have 247 100% positive feedback comments.
Yeah. I had about 200. But my eBay experience became more expensive and more difficult every year. Despite my glowing feedback comments, they kept treating me like a fraudster. Eventually I gave up on them.

It's easier to negotiate a price with the seller if they don't have to pay the ridiculous surcharges that eBay tacks on their transactions, so it's a truer reflection of a watch's market price.
I’ve had decent luck with FB marketplace but it’ll depend on the watch. They handle shipping the same way Chrono24 does AFAIK and I’ve had good experiences as the seller

Tbh, unless you're talking luxury stuff, I stick with eBay. Do the fees suck? Yes. But it's the least amount of hassle IMO.
I should probably stop being so impulsive when I buy. I'll buy watches that I like, but ultimately don't wear very often. And I feel like if I'm not wearing it I should move it along. All the watches I've sold have been entry level.
I’m never selling on eBay again.. They’ve got this money back guarantee for the buyer.
Sold a watch a month ago and now he wants to return it after wearing it and god knows what else for a full refund saying in now loses 25 second a day. Was fine when I had it.
Anything could’ve happened in his 30 days of ownership.

That's ridiculous. And with some watches like Seiko, that's within tolerance.

The fees are more reasonable at Chrono24.

Person to person sales. Marketplace.

I will definitely look at Chrono24.

Excellent, I just joined that Reddit group. Thanks!

That's good to know. Thank you!

I do most of my selling here = no fees.
