Unimatic U2 Classic - embrace the weirdness!
Gifted to me by an old friend, I’m really loving the weirdness of my new Unimatic U2 Classic. It’s 38mm case has an unusual rhombus-like profile (see comments). With its domed sapphire, the U2 comes in pretty thick but the 47mm lug-to-lug helps it feel planted on the wrist. The webbing strap is perfect for summer. Like other Unimatics, it comes in a completely unnecessary (but very cool) ruggedized plastic box. It also came with an extra leather strap. 300m water resistance. This version uses the workhorse Seiko NH35A movement so is a bargain at €400. I believe there’s a slightly thinner, Sellita-based version for €750.

Rhombus-like case profile
I am lusting after this one but I might push her over the edge as I’m hovering above a Rolex, I have a Bel Canto coming in a few weeks and I have 2 watches in for servicing (not cheap!) but I really do want it 🥺
No, but I can see why you might think it is. The oversized crown is indeed a nice feature.
