Power Lume!

After being absent for a few days and having a lot of doubts about this piece, finally took it from its box and give it some wrist time.

One thing that I loved about this Seiko was its luminous soul, so I manage to give it a boost with a Coast lamp found on the bottom of a drawer.

After stare at it for several minutes I realize that I was mistaken all the time, suddenly have an epiphany and fell in love again.

So, the topic is... Have you guys been tired of a watch and then for some reason or maybe just randomness fell again for it?

One day in Spring 2022, I woke up wanting an unusual complication on an analog G Steel: an analog countdown timer. The GST-B100 G2A caught my spouse's style-smart eye, and I too was enticed. After 2-3 months for some warrantied repairs for the second hand, I had a very nice watch with some ahem-- character. I'm again into my beautiful, comfortable, rose gold and ai-iro blue fully analog #gshock, even though...

  • Colors are muted

  • Lume is limited

  • Creating a new timer or changing the time on the fly is essentially impossible without either taking off the watch or using the app.

  • Web time sync using bluetooth means another app and not unlikely more of my data dripping into private databases

  • In order to directly show that 0 minutes 30 seconds remain on the timer, the minute hand on the timer sub-face needs to be calibrated to a neutral at 59 rather than 0.

  • At certain times of day it is difficult to view countdowns and stopwatch info at critical moments under 1 or 2 mins.

  • Though it's in great condition-- as far as I know, the only one in such condition for web sale, and no one wants to buy it from me for a slight discount vs what I paid, partly because Casio.com continues to list it at about a 50% discount but sold out (whhhhhy!).

I'm not wearing it since it was listed it for purchase, but it has returned to my heart, and I expect it will soon be on my wrist again and off the web market. It's incredible and I think it will be loved again.

All the time … by changing out the strap or bracelet 🤙❤️

·

Yes, and most of the time either changing the strap/bracelet or stop wearing it for a while helps

·

I do and that’s why I never sold a watch of mine.

·

Never got tired of this one, but it does have blowtorch lume that even beats Seiko (not an easy thing to do).

I was watching a You Tube awards ceremony by the NYPD for members who had perfect attendance. The couple of cops who had 35 years (no sick) were given a custom NYPD Seiko watch. The guys who got 40 years (no sick) got a gift card. I would tell them , keep the card, I want the NYPD Edition Seiko. I'd like to see a photo of what it looks like or is it just engraved.
