My son and I picked our favorite watches since we started collecting this year. Great year to be a watch collector! https://youtu.be/XUOkfoUt3m8?si=mxYGCFx6L7TQwZYY

Great video! Thanks for sharing! Great job on your son sharing his perspectives.
Great video. I think you should get Elliot a sapphire crystal for his Duro.
Great video you both showed some great watches and looks like it was a good year, I never imagined what watch collecting would bring to my life when I started in June and already I'm hooked, 24 is going to depend largely on if I buy a new pick up truck or not which obviously will affect my budget otherwise I plan on only a few more pricier watches, its going to be an interesting year 🤞

I agree! That is one of our watch projects this coming year. I want to get one for the Seiko 5 when the Hardlex gets scratched too.

Thanks for watching the video. We feel the same. Never knew about the hobby until this year, but enjoying it. I am slowing down purchasing, but saving for a Grand Seiko. Have a great Christmas!

I have two old school Seiko 5s, the little ones. My SNK375 with its black dial and snappy red stripe was flung violently off a bathroom vanity onto a rough textured tile floor, and slid halfway across the room. No scratches. And my little diva SNKK87 fell off her leather strap face down onto a hardwood floor. Also no scratches. They both look like delicate little things, but they're not.
All right John and Eliot, I just watched your video. You wanted to know our most worn watches and favorites of 2023. I have 33 watches priced from $10 to $180, so this is right in your wheelhouse.
-Seiko SUR517P1 $160, black grid dial, sapphire.
-Alba AEFD557 $60, small and sharp field watch, solar.
-Casio MTP-VT01 $35, dress watch, resembles a Nomos but $2000 less.
-Seiko 5 SRPD59 $180, orange version of your watch, John.
-Aragon Divemaster 42, blue diver, $139. If you've never experienced Aragon, go to aragonwatch.com and prepare to be amazed. They are large watches but if Elliot can wear the Duro he could possibly wear some of these.
-Tissot Everytime Large $125. I like dress watches. I don't go to a lot of formal events but I will wear one to the Sunday Mass or to dinner with my daughters. This watch has a very erratic second hand, so erratic that I wrote a whole story about it called "My Conversation with Mademoiselle Tissot" which is still on my page here at WatchCrunch. It's such a beautiful watch I don't care about the second hand, and in fact it's rather amusing.
These edged out my other watches, although I like to wear them too. Thank you for the video!

Hi Sam! Glad you liked the video. Thanks for sharing your collection. Sounds like a great affordable variety. I really like dress watches for church too and they make me feel good at work. I will check out Aragon too. I love how Casio and Seiko make reasonable watches like look expensive with great quality. Thanks again for sharing.
