Culling the herd

I am going through my watches and getting ready to sell off some that I either never seem to wear or just don't like as much as I did when I got them. Any advice?

I plan on putting them on eBay. Good option or are there better? Also, has anyone ever sold a watch they never wear and then regretted it. Would you hang onto something just because it's pretty?

Ebay's totally OK, as long as you don't mind paying them their percentage. I'd first try to sell them locally, to a guy you meet in person. That way he can just step back if he doesn't like it, you don't have to pack it, send it, have it insured, get lost ...

General advice: pictures. Lots. Also of box and papers. Do erase the serial number in the pictures, to prevent counterfeiters putting it on one of their clones.

I guess everyone here has experienced seller's regret, it's common :) And I tend to keep watches I don't wear any more longer than I probably should, because they don't take up much space :)

I personally don't sell my watches because

1. I collect them

2. They aren't pricey watches so selling them wouldn't be too effective moneywise

3. I sold other things in the past that I hardly regret

So if you find yourself struggling wether to sell a watch or not better keep it than forcing yourself to sell it because chances are high you will regret it at some point.
