NWA - New(ly finished mod) Watch Alert!

My first post here on WC was about my first real watch purchase and first mod experience. This Bambino was originally silver but has been given a new rose gold suit.

Unfortunately, the crown was too well screwed on to the stem, and lacking the necessary tools to remove it, off to my local jeweler it went. I've been waiting patiently to get the Bambino back ever since!

Yesterday I got the call, but very annoyingly it came 10 minutes before they closed. Just one more day of patience and voila!

Can't wait to give The Great Bambino some well deserved wrist time. Not too much though, it is after all my dress watch to wear with my (😱) tuxedo!

They even gave me a nice little pouch so I won't have to wrap it in old (but clean) socks.

When it came time to cash out, they informed me that I had a $250 credit! Lucky day! (and thanks to my wife who wanted a wedding band so thin they cancelled her order and made it for free out of their gold welding stock) So I took some time to peruse their wares.

The Monaco is a top tier dream watch. Attainable, but anytime soon for me. I was worried it would be too big, but I think it just barely fits.

The BB fits like a glove, but still a little too rich for my blood in the short term.

But when a $250 credit, and if I can negotiate them down a bit I'm thinking a Turtle is in my near future! (Not this one, the SRPE03)

Happy Thursday everyone! Stay Crunchy the weekend is almost here!

The Bambino looks fabulous in rose gold! Congrats. However, to wear or not wear a watch with a tuxedo is a hotly debated topic and no, James Bond, does not decide the issue.

Definitely not wearing a dive watch in my tux, or a bracelet, or even worse a NATO! Unless you're talking black tie optional, then maybe I can go full Bond.

The only bummer is that I feel it's harder to dress down now. But that's also the point so 🤷‍♂.

Absolutely gorgeous

If you really like the turtle, bear in mind that Seiko also has the mini turtle variant, its size might fits your wrist better

The King turtle fits my wrist just fine, thank you very much.

The Monaco fits too (smaller lug to lug than the Turtle), but being thicker and the boxy shape make it wear bigger (also doesn't help that I was wearing a slim fitting sleeve).

On a side note about fitting for those of you who might want a reference point: 7in wrist , 2in wide.

Ah, I see why it fits. Mine was under 7inch, that's why I was looking for mini turtle in the first place

The mini probably looks great too, but don't dismiss the King if you haven't tried it on. You wear the Casioak just fine and the Seiko is about the same size.

Oh my! I have this same Bambino model but you have very nicely dressed it up! Well done!!! This will always be a classic watch.
