I can’t find a watch that I like, or that fits 100%. I had the following:
Apple Watch SE - didn’t like that you had to charge it daily, plus my phone already does everything the watch does (well, 99% of it) so what’s the point
Garmin Instinct - amazing battery, but no touch screen and no colour screen for that matter, so using just the buttons got little annoying and the buttons started feeling sticky. Great fit thought.
Amazfit T-Rex Pro - garbage step tracking. Thing would count “steps” when I was just moving my arms while doing dishes.
ProTrek 3510Y - thought yo myself, enough of these “smart watches” and got one that at least had some neat functions. Again though, would not wear very well, sensor on the left side digging into my arm, heavy, bad inverted screen, hard to read.
ProTrek PRG600 - smaller sensor on the left side and a lighter watch with a better positive screen but still a bit too big. I do like the styling and the functions, but again not a 100% there.
So I’m ready to give up lol I know there are a ton of different watches out there for different purposes. I’ve had my Fossil for years and I only wear it when going out to nice dinner etc as I don’t want to get it all beat up at work. So for that purpose I got a cheap $15 tough solar Casio from a local thrift store that’s been solid. So I wanted to get a replacement for it, something little bit more fun with some cool functions (hence the ProTrek). But they just seem too bulky, or pokey or heavy etc. There is always something.. am I doomed?? Will I ever find a watch that’s just “perfect”? Any of you guys have the same weird issue?
PS. I don’t have the $ to just “collect” them hence I guess this is why I’m a bit picky as to which one I should keep… Help! 😐

Personally I don’t recommend any smart watches
You need a G-shock in your life. Some have “smart” features if that pulls your strings, but many are “just a watch” with alarms and the odd stuff.

I’m leaning towards that direction as well.

I like the 5610U square. I think I may just do some more research and see what’s there that would fit nicely.
The nice thing is that you have time on your side - there's no rush to choose, and plenty of time to continue researching.
I gave up years ago on smart watches when my new Fitbit died after about a year, even though it looked mint at the time of death. Didn't even hint that it was feeling ill.
Plus, I didn't want to be connected on my wrist - I have a phone and that's enough. But clearly you're a fan of smart watches/fitness trackers, and if money is a concern, AliExpress sells those dirt cheap, so you can try many without breaking the bank.
Just a thought.
(And as an aside, you probably won't find much smart watch talk around here.)
if you’re worried about a gshock being too large they just released some “women’s” version of the GA2100 (called the GMAP2100) that are quite reasonably sized and only miss out on the the analog day of the week hand. The big downside is that the all white one is probably the only model that I’d personally call unisex. Casio annoyingly likes to call a lot of small unisex watches “women’s” but for all but the all white one I’d say they’re pretty right with this one.

The LF20W is a fun one too if you want a little world map on your wrist

Yup! I’ve been wearing it more than my mechanical watches this year.

That’s exactly how I feel to be honest. Every time I try a smart watch, the novelty wears off quickly. I don’t think I’ll be going back to one. Thanks for the AliExpress tip 👍🙂

I think that size would actually be ok for me. It’s the ProTreks that seem to be just too big and dig into my arm while at work. It may come down between GA2100 and 5610U 😃

This one actually looks pretty cool too!

I really like this look 👍
I'm partial to my PRW-2500, but then again I don't mind a large watch.
Here it is compared to my WRUW today, Elliot Brown Beachmaster.
With the single pass, the ride height between the two is negligible.
On wrist presence is the neglible as well. I find big watches with shorter lugs and a tuna style profile wear smaller.
I have a 6.5" for reference. And the Protrek has been around the block a bit...the stairs it could tell as it were lol.
There's also this variant of Protrek. Had a positive LCD screen model too. NATO adapters through Casio JDM parts store.

That BeachmSter looks really good. And it’s not so much I don’t like big watches. I love the 600 ProTrek but I tend to wear my watches lower closer to my wrist. And the crown on the 600 is getting in the way. With the 3510 it was the sensor on the opposite side that was getting in the way lol I guess no ProTreks for me. Now I know.

Interesting. That might be still little too big. I’m worried mainly about the sensor on the left side. Is it similar size to the 3510?

Don't have one to compare, but based off internet yes.

Others might be able to chime in.
