Winter review

After wearing this straight for its first 30 days and then part of the rotation for the next 60 plus days, with proper dressy occasions here and there. I can confidently give my thoughts on this piece.

Firstly, I know I wanted a Grand Seiko in the collection, a dressy piece for the occasion. But was not actively looking for one.

But when we were travelling and saw this on display. I was stunned how beautiful it is and bought it right then and there. In fact I decided that this will be my wedding watch.

The good.

The dial design is just a work of art! It looks different when hit in different angles of light.

The spring drive movement on display looks so cool! The sweeping seconds hand is very mesmerising to look at.

This is my first titanium watch and it gives me peace of mind to know that its harder than steel and won’t scratch as easy.

The gold logo and blue seconds hand is just the right pop of color. The whole watch is neutral enough to match many outfits but with just enough splash of color to be fun.

The zaratsu polishing is not just a gimmick. It looks immaculate!

The bad.

The oem bracelet does not give the whole watch package justice. I immediately replaced it with a leather strap.

Again this is my first titanium watch and sometimes is feels too light?

The power reserve indicator’s asymmetric location, though a useful feature, admitedlly sometimes is an obstruction to the dial design.

The 21mm lug width makes it hard to find replacement straps.

Its borderline too thick? But it doesnt bother me as much.

Conclusion.

When I think of Grand Seiko I think of dressy pieces and this watch perfectly fits that bill!

We have the same watch bro! Agree with alm your points. Sometimes nakalakihan din ako sa case diameter? Coz all my watches are 39 and below. Agree, saks lang ang bracelet, kaya pinalitan ko din agad. But all in all, ang ganda niya 👌

Brooo! Maliit wrist ko pero flat so medyo lusot pa sa akin ang 40. 😅

Ano go, donna? Wakarimasen yo, eigo o tsukate kudasai!

😉

I’ve got the spring/sakura version and love it to pieces. I’m my case, light makes it right, so the lack of weight only endears it more to me. Riding bikes everywhere, a heavy watch can be painful!

And I’ve also found mine very good at resisting scratches. Screw crown and bomb proof spring drive means I can wear it anywhere.

Your winter is a beauty as well - excellent choice!

The Sakura was a very close call for me as well! The way the pink plays with the light is very beautiful!
