C.M. on Instagram: "Watch: Vostok Amphibia “Sniper Dial” Why: It’s not unusual to find Vostok’s in multiple variations as most parts are interchangeable. This was built out of the ashes of a Vostok Cadet I once had. The Cadet was a boys size watch ranging from 33-34mm cases. The movement is the 2409, which is a three-hand manual winder that I salvaged to build this one pictured here. It’s now housed in one of my favourite and discontinued Komandirskie case with Amphibia hands and dial—most call “sniper”. As in most vintage Komandirskie the case is brass plated but the bezel was mined from an Amphibia which is stainless steel. I guess you can say it’s a hodgepodge kind of watch but it’s a trusty old field watch to accompany your trek to the outside world. Not the most accurate but it keeps well enough to get you thru the day!
