A watch company mostly known for their exquisite dials and case finishings has come up with one of the most interesting movements I’ve seen (or heard) since I got in to watches. Inspired by a local bird in Japan, when you wind the crown, an audible chirp sounds from a gear being pecked on within the movement. Interestingly enough, the movement animates just like a bird seen in the caseback. Reminds me that there’s always another grail awaiting.

I saw it in metal and it’s a beautiful watch. Unfortunately, it was a non-working sample so couldn’t try winding it😅
I appreciate that they reduced the big E9 indices, but the clipped tip of the hour hand is still a big pet peeve of mine. 😅
