My first mechanical chronograph

So in 2023 after the birth of my first daughter, I haven’t acquired any watches. I go into the news, find watches I like, almost went for the Hodinkee G Shock Ben Clymer edition (I’m a big sucker for green khaki colors) but never really went for any. Even got into my childhood hobby of pokemon cards now.

Then going through my wishlist since 2022, I had this watch sitting there, there was also the Citizen NY0084 diver with a Kermit dial which caught my eye, especially because there was a heavy discount last month at my local grey market dealer.

But once again, I got my wife to help out with the choice, she knows I have one too many divers (dive style) and just one chrono (moonswatch) because I sold off a Seiko JDM Chrono earlier in the year. But I was just annoyed at the strap being fabric and no other choice. Also the fact there isn’t much coverage on this watch. Love that it’s niche, but was needing a video or two showing the wear and how it looks IRL.

The wife concvinces me that I have many straps anyway that I can change it to, and I could just custom make one and keep the fabric strap. And that’s exactly what I did, put it on this tropic rubber strap from my Lima Meca Revolt, and custom ordered an HNMD leather strap Le Mans in the green colorway. The only watch I think this strap is made for!

Anyway, just wanted to share this NWA, and sorry for the long story. Thanks for reading through!

Very good looking watch.

I love that crown! And the color combo is great, too. I've been on the lookout for a racing themed chrono that has some panda-ish look to it, but in a colorway besides black and white

Yes quite a special crown. And has a great vintage vibe. I was thinking the same, love a panda but a different colorway is fun. Almost pulled the trigger on the Timex Q Chronograph, but it is a typical Panda color
