Need help deciding.

Just came off of a bigger purchase (Grand Seiko) around Thanksgiving. Now I’m getting that itch to start saving up for my 2024 purchase, my wife gave me a limit of around $6500 for this watch. I’m leaning toward a Panerai (PAM01085) or a Tudor Black Bay Chrono on a bracelet.

What should I do? I have tried them on and love both of them.

Great times ahead. You are having a generous wife, congratulations.

I’d vote for the Panerai, more unique look and cooler watch in my opinion.

Surprise your wife with a 6,500 USD gift. Like a Europe tour or to S.E.A. and see her melting.

For 2025 she will raise your Limit to 10k. And voila...hellooo Glashütte Original SeaQ.

You’re playing chess, not checkers, my friend. Interesting thought.

It’s definitely more unique for sure. I’m super drawn to it for sure.

tudor bb chrono, don't like panerais

·

BB Chrono is already a classic. Panerai is beautifully different. But if it was my money I'd go for the Breitling UB2010161C1A1.

What else is in your collection? That's helpful info to know what should be next.

Yeah, I gave my wife a shopping trip for our 30th anniversary present. You know what she got?

You know what I got in return? A happy wife and happy life, I guess but it definitely wasn’t another cool watch for me. LOL

Personally, I'd go with the Panerai seeing the others that you have in the collection.

I was leaning that way pretty heavily. Now starts the saving journey.

You sir, are a genius! I bet it would work. I would absolutely love a GO! Best value for money in that $10k zone too!

·

Try them on until you know which is right for now. Get the other later if you still like it.

Plot twist.. trip was last year, limit raised this year.

Between these two I’ll always choose the Panerai.
