Watches in person
Recently I was stuck at dubai airport for a couple of hours and had to kill time. Being a watch nerd I went to look at watches and fell in love with tissot and orient. But when it came to omega and Blancpain they were good but a little off putting because I had seen certain models of these brands on YouTube and the macro shots in the videos made them look bigger but in person everything felt smaller and not that special meanwhile for some reason orient and tissot looked stunning.

Yes I had that feeling the first time I handled a luxury watch. I was shocked it was "just" a watch & didn't have a magic aura or something.
Having owned a couple of Omega's for a while I can honestly say it takes a while for the quality & magic to shine through. And it genuinely does make me feel special when I wear one of my Omega's.
I felt that way about the Nomos Zürich Weltzeit.
That ⌚ wore thicker than the dimensions suggested and had a muted dial different from macro shots.
Macro shots can be very misleading.
Drives me nuts that I can watch a watch review on the big screen TV with all of these incredible macro shots and then I have to have my reading glasses to see the date display in real life. 😂

I bought a cheap 10x watchmakers eye loupe in Amazon to look at my watches as macro shots would show them in YouTube. It is fun and it helps seeing them in a different light.

The depth of detail on Omega watches is just incredible. I catch myself staring at mine all of the time.
