My first gold plated tank watch - Universal Geneve 542114
I got this watch dirt cheap from an online auction, and I gotta say this watch exceed my expectation. Although it is a handwinding mechanical watch, the case is pretty slim. I don't know much about the Universal Geneve, but a quick google search showed me that this brand used to be one of the biggest Swiss brands along with Patek and Rolex. I've never seen this brand around, not to mention a tank one. Any fun fact around Universal Geneve? I'd love to know.

There is still a company of the same name around, but they no longer make almost entirely tasteful product lines like they seem to have done for many decades. They truly embody what comes to my mind when I hear the term "Swiss watch."
The one I have is a gold bumper automatic from circa 1950 that was a "years of service" award to a family member.
