Captain Willard says hi :)

A while back I have picked up this seiko “willard” from a duty free jeweller.

I could not resist as it had a really good price, the same jeweler sells the same watch today for 1200+€ retail and I got it for about 750€ when they had the black Friday sales last year.

Some people would bring up the argument that seiko is ripping off their fans with a watch that has a movement you can find in 500$ and below watches, but this one has a charm of it’s own. I am a big fan of seiko’s cushion case designs, and I am a sucker for reissues.

I picked up the green version last week and it has been on my wrist since. Fantastic watch.👌

1K Prospex Seikos offer some of the best finishing you can get for that price. I love the Willard, and my favorite is the SPB143. Congrats for that bargain Willard, awesome watch!

Love reissues. Vintage without the pitfalls.

100% agree.

That is an icon of a watch 👌

You will always get someone somewhere saying 'For that money I'd expect X kind of movement and Y kind of crystal and Z kind of end-links' 🙄 At the end of the day it's up to you if it's worth it. And I would agree that watch is definitely worth it 👍

These Seiko reissues are very nice. I strongly considered the Willard, but ended up with the SPB143, and can’t seem to stop wearing it.

I really miss my spb183. (The blue one)

Great watch!

I love the Willard. How’s the bracelet? The oem rubber strap was nasty so put it on a tropic.

Bracelet is spot on. Weight is on par with the case, so it can sustain the watch even tho it is a bit loose. Feels sturdy and well built, has a good heft to it. I can recommend purchasing the bracelet.

Love the Willard (and mine is getting worn today with the Uncle Seiko Chocolate Bar strap).

I want to buy this watch and I'm finding that same issue. Too pricey!
