Need help fixing my Timex Weekender Chronograph

When the chronograph seconds hand gets to about 3 o’clock, it swings down towards 6 o’clock. Feels like the seconds hand is loose. Any ideas of how to fix? This is one of my first watches so I’d like to fix it and wear it, so any help is appreciated!

Have you tried asking a watchmaker or a jeweler that has/knows one?

Don’t really know of any in my area tbh. I’d like to give it a shot to fix but wanted to see if this is a common issue/relatively easy to fix.

I don't have this watch but are you talking about the "large second hand?" If so isn't that only running when you use the chronograph and the true seconds are displayed on the 6 o'clock dial. I posted this a minute ago for someone else with a similar watch...

The chrono hand probably slipped up on the pinion enough to make it loose. It's just friction fit on there. You would have to release the crown so you can drop the movement out of the back, and use a hand pusher tool to press the chrono hand back down. You need to take caution to align the hand just right, and not push it down too far, so it doesn't touch the other hands. Lots of light and magnification is helpful.

Thanks! Exactly what I thought needed to be done. Just needed to make sure it makes sense.

Of course, the right equipment and skill is necessary.

Yes, of course! A steady hand, for sure. @cmoney If you do end up taking it to a watchmaker, it should be a fairly simple job. If they try to tell you it's not worth it because it's a Timex, try to find another watchmaker.
