From Rockin' Mars to Ticking Time: A Panel with Anthrax's Watchmaker, aBlogtoWatch's Chief, and a Economist Data Whiz!
Picture this: Anthrax's former guitarist Dan Spitz, aBlogtoWatch Ariel Adams , and your humble fellow cruncher walk into a bar... No, it's not the beginning of a peculiar joke, but a recount of one of the most impromptu and dynamic panel discussions I've ever been a part of!
I was fortunate to be invited to a panel discussion about our mutual passion for watch collecting. Our host was Andy from Inspired Money; and he did an amazing job of moderating the discussion. Keep us loose and spontaneous but covering a lot of ground! We talked about craftsmanship and innovation, the iconic status for watches, and strategies for collecting, and preserving value and legacy.
Honestly, I think some of my takes ruffled a few feathers, especially my ideas about iconic status of watches and replicas. I did find Dan's stories very fascinating! The transition from rock star to master watchmaker was amazing to hear. And Ariel from aBlogtoWatch had lot's of great insights.
It was a privilege to be part of such an expert panel. And great fun!
