Accuracy nut

This watch has spoiled me. Before, I was more than satisfied with a mechanical watch that ran +/-20 seconds per day (preferring +). Being within 10 seconds seemed excellent! I know the new Rolex 32xx movements get badmouthed by some on the internet, but this example was incredibly accurate out of the box and still is 2 years later. Where Rolex guarantees +/-2 spd, mine was mostly dead accurate on the wrist and +/-1 over night.

So I decided to do an experiment. On November 5th last year, we changed our clocks back to standard time. I set this watch to atomic time (thanks, G Shock!) and never let it stop running. Today, we set our clocks forward again and this Explorer has gained 2 seconds. In 4+ months. Granted, I can “regulate” the watch by leaving it dial up or crown down to gain or lose ~1 seconds when off wrist but man. Talk about accurate!

That tracks with my experience. The 3230 is phenomenally accurate!

The accuracy of my Explorer and BB54 make the idea of tolerating anything that gains/loses more than a few seconds a day agonizing. They cannibalize my other watches!

Yep. I have the same movement in my Air King, it's fantastic. For me, it's dial down to gain a little, crown up to lose a bit.
