Vostok Cadet aka “Komandirskie mini” infos

Hi everyone! Today I bought this beautiful Vostok Cadet, and I wanted to know a little more about this guy. Does anyone have the specs (water resistance, power reserve, etc..) and a little bit of history about this?

Never seen a “mini” before. Interesting… 🤔

Hmmmm? I own two 90's era Boctoks; a Komaderskie and an Amphibia, but never heard of (or seen) a mini before? Am sure Mr. Google might be able to cough up some info 😀

That’s interesting. I’ve never seen a Komandirski with a dial like that before, nor have I ever heard of a “cadet” model.

It should be 20 meters water resistant. It will be fine in the rain or getting splashed, but I wouldn’t totally submerge it in water.

Not sure what the power reserve is, but I’d wind it every morning if you are going to wear it daily.

Thank you! The thing that made me think ov a high water resistance is the screw down crown and the scew case back. I was thinking about winding it every morning, do you recommend the classic “40 turns”? I’m new to the mechanical watches world

Wind it until you feel resistance, then stop. If you overwind it you could damage the movement. It should take at least 25-30 turns, but that could vary.

I don’t remember a lot about these but from my understanding these were aimed as being womens models. My general advice to anyone who wants to learn more about Vostok, Soviet watches, and post-Soviet watches (in English) is to go to Watchuseek and make an account there. It has been my main source of information about Vostok.
