Motorsports and cars brought me into this hobby
Who else ended up here deep in the rabbit hole of watches because of their love for motorsports and cars?
In relation to @Hodonkee post on F1 and chronographs, I’m sharing my humble collection of them. I havent had the inclination yet to get myself a mechanical chronograph but maybe down the line I’ll start with a Speedy hesalite or a Heuer Monza ✌️.
In the meantime, what is your niche in the car scene and what was the car-related watch that got you in the scene?
Mine was this Casio Edifice Alpha Tauri Anadigi watch. Im a fan of Alphatauri (yes its quite masochistic) but Im very optimistic of Danny Ric and Yuki this season 🔥. Although I’m a 4wd/offroad guy Formula 1 has been my go-to in between Dakar rallies 😁
Love chronographs and all watches. Not a collector just a guy who likes watches
I used to autocross a Honda CRX back in the mid-80's ... nothing formal, just a bunch of us young guys with cars like the aforementioned CRX, Golf GTi's, Corolla SR5's, Fiero's, 300Z's, etc. who would chase each other around local backroads and such, seein' who could get from A to B the quickest (without getting ticketed ... or killed! LOL!). A decade and a half later, I got into motorcycles ...
Have always loved chronographs, but never really learned of their connections to racing until I started learning about watches about 10 years ago!
Chronos are some of my fave watch designs, but it actually has more to do with aesthetics than "racing" per se ... but some of those racing chronographs are awesome lookin' timepieces!
