Holy crap. My requirements from Grand Seiko to make a grail watch:

✅ 34mm

✅ Dress watch

✅ Beautiful dial

✅ No date window

✅ Highly polished hands

✅ Either 9F quartz or spring drive

I literally just ordered my other grail, the SBGX261 and I’m already thinking about when I could possibly order the SBGX353. The price is pretty steep on this one: $3,800. It’ll definitely take a while for me to pull the trigger on this beautiful piece, but it’s good to have an aspirational piece!

What are your thoughts on the new SBGX353? Would you like to see more 34mm Grand Seikos? Perhaps with manual wind mechanical movements or spring drive?

Nice. Looks like a quartz, could be mechanical but I don't think that's likely.

Close but no cigar for me. I’d cry if they release an omiwatari in 34mm/36mm…

Oh sorry it’s 100% a 9F movement. Those checkboxes are my personal “requirements” for being a Grand Seiko grail.

By that you mean: SBGX353 but with a hand-wound spring drive, Omiwatari dial, or both?

The dial is amazing. I agree with all of your requirements except the 34mm. So far, I have not tried a 34mm on my wrist before. My ideal size would be 39mm so I can enjoy as much view of the dial while wearing it comfortably. But yeah, everyone has a different wrist size and to each his/her own, that’s the beauty of this hobby.🍻

The watch face on that SBGX353 is absolutely stunning.  My SBGA421 Snowflake is 41mm and I am very pleased with the fit.  I wish my older 35mm watches were larger.  If 34mm is right for you, I am glad that they make that size.  I am a Spring Drive fan and I don't mind the power meter on the dial.

Most people look at me and think I have a large wrist because I’m 6’3” tall, but I have about a 6.25” wrist, the smallest wrist of all the men I know lol

I love collecting vintage watches because A) they’re just about the only things that fit me and B) I feel sort of an obligation to wear them because if nobody else dares to wear a small watch, who will?

I have a 31mm Seiko Marvel, and it fits so well! It’s a smaller watch even for me, but it’s not unnaturally small. Currently rocking a 34mm Swatch and it looks perfect on my wrist. God I wish more watches were 34mm. Such a good size.

I'm 5'7" with 7.5" wrist.  Our creator had a warped sense of humor.

I hope you’re wearing all the big watches that I can’t! Casio Duro and Bulova Lunar Pilot are the first that come to mind.
