I actually really like divers. I have an skx013 which I am about to sell because I think it's too small. I'm just picky because I like tapering bracelets, don't want the watch to be too big, and not too thick. I like the SPB143, the Citizen Barnacle, or maybe even the Tisell Submersible.
I used to have maybe 10-12 watches, and I didn't wear but half of them. So I just decided it was okay to condense the collection to pieces I'd actually wear. What I love about the hobby is that everybody is different! Your collection is probably awesome!
I really don't like chronographs either. But the divers I like are a little out of my price range at the moment. I feel like 39-40mm on sports watches are my speed. I wish the Seiko Solar Quartz watches were 39mm instead of 38.5mm. I think I'd enjoy the SPB143, but I need to try it on the wrist first
You know what's crazy? I feel like if I buy a diver it would just be because I don't have one. I'm not sure if I really want one. I do really like the Barnicle Citizen made though. But I'm particular about bracelets. Non tapering bracelets make me angry.
This is EXACTLY me! I found this watch a couple months ago and have made it my affordable Grail. The quartz version especially. I might pull the trigger on my birthday in November
I am currently trying out one of the 36mm homages of the Explorer 1. At first I thought it was a little too small. However, the more you wear it, the more you realize how much it stays "out of the way". It's super comfortable, and unintrusive. Most importantly, IMHO it pairs better with multiple outfit styles and colors. I feel the bigger 39mm probably doesn't do the same.
