SOTC- My VERY Affordable 4 Watch Collection

I think I want to take more time in selecting my pieces moving forward. I feel like I've bought and sold a lot of watches the last couple of years. But... here is my small collection:

  1. Special- Bulova Super Seville

  2. Everyday-Addiesdive 1016. I feel like I'm cheating with this one, but the Smith's Everest is SO hard to obtain without severely overpaying. This allows me to be patient.

  3. Dress- Orient Bambino 38mm.

  4. Sport- Seiko Speedtimer

I do like the balance here, as everything fits into a category. Also they are all relatively close in size 36mm, 37mm, 38mm, and 39mm. Any thoughts? Any other GADA style watches other than the Smith's Everest I should be looking at?

Nice collection! I recommend a #citizen Promaster Diver if you want a diver for your collection.

You know what's crazy? I feel like if I buy a diver it would just be because I don't have one. I'm not sure if I really want one. I do really like the Barnicle Citizen made though. But I'm particular about bracelets. Non tapering bracelets make me angry.

That's not crazy at all; this is crazy:

I get not wanting a watch just to check off a box for collecting. I don't like chronographs and the only ones I have are for being a space nerd as well as a watch nerd.

Very nice and tasteful. I do believe you have all the bases covered. Congratulations. I certainly can't do a minimalist (in numbers) collection if my life depended on it. ,🍻

I really don't like chronographs either. But the divers I like are a little out of my price range at the moment. I feel like 39-40mm on sports watches are my speed. I wish the Seiko Solar Quartz watches were 39mm instead of 38.5mm. I think I'd enjoy the SPB143, but I need to try it on the wrist first

I used to have maybe 10-12 watches, and I didn't wear but half of them. So I just decided it was okay to condense the collection to pieces I'd actually wear. What I love about the hobby is that everybody is different! Your collection is probably awesome!

Nice! Don’t buy a diver if you don’t like them. As much as I love your SSC813, I don’t own a chrono because, well, I don’t like chronos.

I actually really like divers. I have an skx013 which I am about to sell because I think it's too small. I'm just picky because I like tapering bracelets, don't want the watch to be too big, and not too thick. I like the SPB143, the Citizen Barnacle, or maybe even the Tisell Submersible.

I found the SPB143 a bit top heavy and slightly thicker than I like. Worth trying on, it’s beautiful though

And that would bother me. I do like a thinner, lighter diver. So I think that might cancel out the Seiko for me
