So I received the WMT Royal Navy diver today , something of a bond sub homage - just like the San Martin 6200 in the pics.
So let’s have a VS battle shall we?
Build quality: this is definitely in SM’s favour here - a machined clasp / tight bracelet & sapphire crystal & machined bezel.
Lume: the pics above flatter the WMT a bit , the lume is poor & has only applied to the hour & min hands. SM takes this too I guess.
Movement: both house the NH35 - however I’m given to believe SM regulate their movements. The WMT - I do not suspect so but the time grapher will reveal all in future.
Price: WMT £300 inc vat / import fee’s to GB. San Martin can be had from Aliex for under £200.
(A bond sub can be had for £130K 🤯)
In conclusion: this review makes it sound like I dislike the WMT.
That’s not true - however I do not think it is worth the money. They are doing some really novel stuff on their site like the Watch customiser & allowing an option to have patina & ageing applied to their watches albeit at a rather high price.
But man hours are man hours & people need to make a profit.
So all power to them with this.
Finally , this looks like I’m running a San Martin puffpiece here - I’m not & they do not pay me to say anything favourable either.
But I’m totally open to free watches & or cash should they wish to.

Thanks for posting. I'm a big fan of the SM. All the looks of the Rolex and a couple of $ cheaper 👍

That looks spot on with the bond nato. I have attachment issues with the rivet bracelet though
I like their cheeky digitized hands and marker watches. I just don't pull the trigger because of the cost.
I love WMT. And that's, imo, a better watch than San Martin. More soul.
Mainly BECAUSE they use acrylic. It's vastly under rated, and easily polish-able.
I especially like how it is less refractive/reflective and doesn't need AR. Not too mention it smudges less, especially with viscous fluids. And I do mean everything from oils, to silicone, to bodily/blood. 😯
The tongue in cheek Green Label is what I keep watching, see the right variant come out, and I'm getting one 😂?
(Also drilled lugs FTW)

All good points. They have an old worldly feel to them I’ll concede that. SM do feel like remasters.

Yeah that’s my thoughts too. Once they work out their pricing & make it commensurate with the other Chinese brands - then that’s a potential game changer.
