So we’ve all seen plexi crystals with a high dome that evokes those retro diver vibes.
However , we all like the de rigeur sapphire crystal these days. So In pic one I show a WMT with the aforementioned plexi crystal & 3 others that are sapphire & may surprise you.
The bigger & rounder the dome the better.

I prefer acrylic for vintage/retro style.
I also feel that sapphire is overhyped. I like it but have zero problem with mineral in sub 500usd watches.
Domed acrylic is the most retro, and I love it for that. It's like the headrests on my dad's MG midget, yes they're rock solid, and I'm sure do more harm than good, but they're retro, and original, so we roll with them. It's all down to preference at the end of the day
