LA dial Weiss

Have been eyeing a white-dial Weiss for a while now but when I came across this model with the non-Flieger hands and an LA dial I had to jump on it. This must be from very early on, possibly even from his apartment? I’d love to know more about this particular model

Interesting differences from current model Weiss,

- 41.5mm v 42mm case

- Screw-down back, not screw-on

- Non-flieger, lumed hands

- LA annotation

- No lume plots around the chapter ring

- Chapter ring has dashes and arrows v railroad

- unsigned crown

I have a 38mm white L.A. dial. Such a good watch.

That’s a nice looking watch! But I’m really intrigued by the green textile strap. Is that aftermarket?

·

Me too, especially if it comes in a smaller case

·

Fun fact, Weiss means "White" in German. That really confused me for a hot second there 😅

Yep, aftermarket. The seller put it on there before selling it to me, not sure what happened to the original

congrats! very cool watch...understand why you wanted to add one

The owner and watch maker Cameron Weiss has a great YouTube channel where he deep dives into watch making. Check it out if you have the time. His instagram is great too. I’ve had his watches on my “shortlist” for a while now, but when I got into this hobby no one told me of all the micro brands. I can’t keep up mentally or financially.

Yeah, the Watchmakers Workshop has been a fun series!
