I used to come to these watch stalls in the Philippines as a kid after school. I was fascinated how these men tinkered with watch parts so small they had to use a single lens eyeglass. These men devoted their lives to this craft. Many of them wore Seikos and some even wore Rolexes. It definitely left a mark on me til this day.

Will be visiting the Philippines in late April for a month. Will definitely be keeping an eye out for these fine craftsmen 👍 love your country and can't wait to return!
We have stalls like that in New York Chinatown. Also, watchmakers in booths at jewelry "malls," in the Diamond District on 47th St., in Chinatown, and other parts of town are the indoor equivalent.
This is truly awesome 🤩

That’s awesome! Hopefully those watch stalls still exists.
Love that photo, his glasses, the loupe, and his hands, along with the tools and the batteries. It feels incredibly real.
