The price for context. In uk, the CW is 715GBP bracelet (550 on strap), the seiko 590GBP on bracelet. You'll often find the seiko discounted, whilst CW rarely discount (unless line is discontinued). Also worth mentioning is Seiko is a solar quartz.

Something must have changed with CW then, they used to discount all the time

To me the CW looks bland & vanilla looking, a kind of sports dress chrono, whereas the Seiko is a sports chronograph with more character, although some of it is borrowed from the Rolex Daytona!

CW seems intent to tick all homage boxes. Playing it safe is just good business, if indeed vanilla.

No longer a micro, pretty decent sized independent. They are probably doing good numbers thus no need to discount.

The arrangement of the subdials on the CW looks off, like it's using the movement from the Moonswatch. Just looks weird and "visually uncomfortable" imho.

The Seiko looks more like a 3 subdialed chronograph should do to my eye 🤔👍🏻

Prospex, because good (pandas_ always triumph over evil (pandas).

I owned the Prospex for a while but ended up selling it relatively quickly. This may not be the case for you, but for me it fell flat in person and didn't end up getting any wrist time.

I haven't seen the Valour in person, but based on the images and knowledge of CW it may have a bit more character and build quality, especially on the bracelet.

Are there any other options you've been considering?

It's a tough matchup so just go with your gut!

Recently, I thought I had made up my mind, thinking that the Seiko model was what I wanted but then the new CW model came along and it made me rethink. My main criteria is quartz and size - smaller and thinner is better. I prefer a more simple classic style. If you have anymore ideas that would be great?!

Not a big fan of either. Of the two IMO The Seiko looks much nicer but I don’t like the purple sub dials, the useless 24hr register or deep&small date window.

I’m a fan of CW but the C63 Valour does nothing for me and the military link is tenuous at best.

Have you looked into Baltic's chronographs at all? A different style but I've heard good things...

They look great and they fit the bill size wise. However, i think they only do mechanical watches.

Ah, you're right! I thought the Bicompax used quartz but they use a Seagull. Never mind then -- happy hunting!
