It's Amazing What $32 Can Get You

I was mindlessly scrolling through Casio watches on Amazon a couple of days ago and happened upon this little gem. I justified buying it because (a) it was only $32 and (b) I didn't really have a quartz everyday casual GADA piece.

For me, personally, an everyday piece needs to be on a bracelet (because they fit my weird wrists the best), have a day-date complication, and be able to be dressed both up (if need be) and down, which means it can neither have a bunch of sporty complications, nor have too many elegant elements. This Casio fits that bill.

By my calipers it measures 38mm case diameter, 42mm lug-to-lug, and 9mm in height. It's right at the smaller end of my 7.25" wrist's range.

The bracelet is rubbish, unfortunately. It looks ok, and surprisingly doesn't pull hair like I feared it would (it does a little bit), but its folded links are a pain in the ass to change and it makes such a bad rattle.

Despite that, the watch has it where it counts. For $32 I won't be crying any rivers. The dial is way better than it has any right to be - another feather in Casio's cap. Their ability to produce pieces that punch way above their price point continues to impress.
