Thoughts on the Hamilton Khaki Scuba Navy Auto 40mm

I'm looking for a new dive watch and really like the looks of the Hamilton.  I've heard there were some poor reviews or opinions of the Hamilton dive watches and most seem to be around the 43mm? Anything I should be aware of for the 40mm?  I like the Tissot Seastar 1000, but I have 3 Tissot watches already and trying to diversify brands a bit.  Looking at the Seiko monster as well.

Thanks!

It's pretty, but I don't care for the Powermatic movement that they use in them.  I'd suggest a Glycine Combat Sub as a good option.  Costco has one for $300.

Hamilton makes a great watch. I've had nothing but good luck over the years with a number of Hamiltons.

I've also had zero problems with the Powermatic 80 movement. The power reserve and accuracy are impressive. based on the 5 examples I own. I'd definately take tha Hamilton over the Seiko.

Glycines are also impressive and , usually, priced right.

Hamiltons are great. I own three and have had zero problems with any of them. However, I'm not sure, given their history, that they would be my choice for a dive watch, but that's just one internet-person's opinion.

Have you looked at Mido? Part of the Swatch group like Tissot and Hamilton, so they are well made.

The Hamilton you posted is more "dive style" than diver, but I love the look. I considered one, but never followed through.

Also, consider Christopher Ward, they just released a 300m diver that looks pretty awesome. I can vouch for CW making quality watches, I have 4.

Hamilton is one of my favorite brands. Huge history, pure class, beautiful and excellent value for money.

This diver is very beautiful, however, it’s only 100m WR and there is no ISO 6425 certification, in this price range I don't think it's fair.

I think the 43mm model with round markers, 200m WR and ISO 6425 is much prettier and better valuer for money.

I also like the Tissot Seastar 1000, although it’s also 43mm, but lug-to-lug shorter than Hamilton.

The movement both are swatch group, you know the good quality.

Thank you all for the feedback!  @JBird7986 I just happened to be making a trip to Costco tonight and was able to see the Glycine in person.  Looks fantastic for $299.  It's a 42mm and I have a Casio Duro at 44mm that I bought when I started out that's my beater watch.  I'm thinking 40mm feels a bit small for a diver or diver style.   I'm sure it's all my perception but was really happy I was able to see a 42mm size wise in person. I think that alone was enough to cross the 40mm off my list.  @Al_Ra_Ra and @JAWS80  I appreciate your feedback, I'm newer to all of this so that background on Hamilton was really helpful for me.  The Hamilton Field Titanium Auto in black is on my list!  I'll check out the Mido as well @KristianG.  I really like the Ocean Star 200C titanium.  A bit pricier, but looks really good.

Thanks All!!

the dive watches from hamilton are underated in my opinion. I prefer the hamilton to the tissot seastar 1000

I own this exact watch and I've really enjoyed it. I have a 6.75" wrist, so the 40mm size works better for me than the newer 43mm. The WR of this models is "only" 100m, but it's more than adequate for my needs. I don't dive any more, but the Hamilton is my go-to water sports watch. The 20mm lug width allow me to swap straps with most of the other watches in my collection. I bought the Hamilton on the OEM bracelet, but I've worn it on NATOs, a rubber strap and a shark-mesh bracelet.

There are lot of great watches in this price range, but if you like look of the Hamilton, you won't be disappointed in it.
