It seems you do like a drink with your timepieces (nice collection btw). I am hoping for someone to show me some 'steering wheel shots' and say they love driving xD.

Explorer 2 and Golf... what a beautiful combo

Heya, thanks for the compliment. I also thought long and hard about this one as I really prefer a metal bracelet to other forms of straps but then I had a major breakthrough. I looked at the rest of my collection and thought about if I was after more ‘elegance’ or ‘cool’ and which watches fit which role. So I guess the best way to look at it is how does this fit in with the rest of your collection?

The rubber strap is ultra comfortable I must say. It just wraps around your wrist with ease. If you go with the steel large model, you can also buy a black rubber strap from the boutique. So this might sway you one way or another :).

In relation to the ADLC coating, yep it does scratch and ding alright! I have one scratch on the bezel which you can see under certain light but it’s very clean and does not show any silver colour underneath. There is also a small ding on the corner of the bezel and again, no steel steel colour is showing up. It was my bad… I hit it on some beer bottle and wore it whist doing the dishes lol. I have no regrets though, it’s become my daily wear and I love how light it feels on the rubber for that purpose.

What also might be good to know for you is that you can always send the watch in for repair to a boutique and have the ADLC bezel replaced (same goes with the steel, I guess). I asked the boutique this question and they confirmed it.

Some additional reasons I chose the ADLC over the steel would be that the steel would show micro scratches on the highly polished bezel wheras the ADLC is matte and less reflective of those scratches. Also Cartier has never done an inverse watch so iconic as the Santos with white Roman numerals so I thought they was pretty unique too :).

Anyways, I hope you make your choice soon, whichever you go with, you’ll love it.
