Hello!

Hi everyone, I'm Alpha. I met Max at WindUp Watch Fair in SF and his Jedi mind tricks slowly worked on me into signing up.

I'm fairly new to the watch collecting game. So far my journey has led me into collecting very obscure vintage brands or movements that most overlook.

Brands like this 1950-60s Alpha Rocketeer. I couldn't find a lot of documentation about it, but from what I've gathered this is a rebranded Lanco (Langendorf Watch Company) that shares the same model name. No clue if Schwarz Etienne was involved in this partnership; they were the original owners of the Alpha brand before the branch closed and a Hong Kong company bought the name in 1993.

This watch is my gateway drug to owning a Universal Geneve Polerouter someday. It's not as refined as Genta's design, but there's very subtle elements that surprised me like the concave date window matching the under-crystal bubble magnifier.
