I practice a lot on ladies watches to improve my restoration work. I think I took the 'starting small' advice too literally ๐
I restored this watch back in April. It wasn't keeping good time. I disassembled the gear train and found a miniscule piece of dirt that caused the issue. After a good clean, I started restoration work on the bezel with diamond paste.
This was my first attempt at straight-graining. The graining was a little more subtle on this watch so I used a fine fiberglass pen and did manual hand-brushing for each lug.
I highly advise wearing a mask when working with fiberglass, since the pen tip can flake off during restoration.
Crystal was also in rough shape but I still had enough material to work with and polished out the scratches using different grit whetstones and diamond paste.
Bracelet was also cleaned, but I wanted to try something different with strap options.
Overall I'm very happy with the results. I gifted the watch to a friend who loves purple โจ

This doesn't look like the same case. I guess the polishing made the corners of the lugs appear more distinct.
Amazing job, especially the crystal, which I would have guessed was simply a new one.
Another master class result, my friend ๐โค๏ธ๐ค
