Hardness Treatments on Watches

I'm curious if any one has any insight on what watches have hardness treatments under $1K. I know Heron is one company that offers a hardness treatment, but I wanted to see if there was anything else out there ๐Ÿ™‚

I did, I love Ben's videos. But yeah I'm curious what other offerings are out there. He was more or less just testing the material. Though the Sinn did have a hardness treatment. If I could afford a U50, I wouldn't have even asked lol

Viagra for watches???

Who wood'a thunk??

My Zelos Spearfish has a 1200HV hardened coating on the case and bracelet, and it really seems to work very well. Those models are sold out, but were well under $1K USD, and they continue to come out with new models.

Is that a sapphire crystal on your watch, or are you happy to see me?

I see the Blacktip Adventurine is on it's way, I've always wanted something with adventurine and I've had my eyes on Zelos for a while now. I thought about the SWORDFISH FIELD 38MM SS 'MOSAIC MOP'

But it didn't have a hardness treatment and it had ANOTHER Seiko movement.. So I didn't pull the trigger.. Any advice on buying these before they're all bought up?

I've got an aventurine Zelos Mako in my collection, and the dial is stunning. Photos and videos don't do them justice - they are a great example of a watch that needs to be seen in person to be appreciated, but they aren't for everybody because of the "sparkle". I've also got a blue MOP Zelos Mako Ti that is equally as appealing, albeit in a completely different way. I've never been a huge fan of the Zelos mosaic MOP dials, but I can see their appeal. Zelos is one of my favorite microbrands, and that's based on a combination of their build quality, dial designs, customer service and overall "bang for the buck".

I'm considering one of the other Blacktips as well, as they feature the Miyota 9015 and have the hardened coating. Most Zelos drops tend to sell out extremely quickly, but the only advice I can offer is to make sure to be waiting for the launch time with all of your payment information available and their order page loaded and ready to be refreshed immediately when the drop goes live. Hopefully for you the aventurine blacktip won't sell out instantly, and you'll have time to get your order in. They've released several models with aventurine, so at some point in time the demand must start dropping off in favor of other variants. When I bought mine, the aventurine model was sold out within 2 minutes. Best of luck.
